amphicyrtous: -η, -ο (Α ἀμφίκυρτος, -ον) [etymology < ἀμφι-* + κυρτός.

curved on both sides /gibbous / phase of moon or planet between first quarter and full or between full and last quarter / convex / a convex lens drives the diverging, or blurred, light rays from a distant object to converge at a focal point

This Remember post comes from a picnic we had last spring in Tatoi, just out of Athens. It's nice to discover new things so close to where you live. We visited a small nature reserve with bunnies and deer and a lake with swans and ducks, and then continued to set our picnic in a clearing in the woods near an abandoned roadside tavern. I took that (dog or fox?) skull with me, it's quite clean but I haven't bleached it yet!
